7th suspect linked to Free State asbestos deal arrested in KZN

The Hawks have confirmed they've arrested a KwaZulu-Natal man linked to an unlawful multi-million rand asbestos audit deal in the Free State.

They say the man had been working in Richards Bay.
He allegedly fled when Hawks officials tried to arrest him on Wednesday.
Hawks spokesperson, Hangwani Mulaudzi says he handed himself over to officials on Thursday afternoon.
Six other people, including former government officials, were arrested in the Free State and Gauteng on Wednesday.
"We can confirm that the 7th suspect that we have been looking for in KZN has been accounted for bringing the complement number now to seven.

"This rounds off the initially targeted suspects in this case, they include senior government officials and businessmen as well as five companies.
"The accused face over 60 charges which include corruption, fraud, money laundering in contravention of the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act (POCA) as well as contravention of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
"The suspects are expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Friday. All of the suspects are being transported to that area," says Mulaudzi.
