Police Minister, Bheki Cele says efforts to deal with cash-in-transit heists are yielding results.

At a press briefing on Gauteng's East Rand, he announced a 63% drop nationally - in the number of cash van robberies from mid-April to the beginning of June.
Cele says they also have 42 suspected cash-in-transit robbers in custody.

He says four of the suspects are alleged kingpins - including Wellington Bibi Cenenda - whom police say has been linked to 23 heists in four provinces.
Cele says millions of rands in stolen cash have also been recovered.
"152 rounds of ammunition, and millions of rands have been recovered. The biggest recovery was in Mthatha. Stacks and stacks of money were found still packed and they looked very tempting," Cele said.
