Six suspects accused of taking part in a vigilante attack in Dannhauser, in northern KZN, are due to appear in court on Tuesday on a charge of murder.

KZN police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says, the group aged between 17 and 25, allegedly attacked patrons at a tavern which led to a brawl involving pangas and knives.

Zwane says, the group accused the patrons of assaulting a woman in the area.
Five people were critically hurt and a woman later died in hospital.
A case of murder and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm was opened at the Dannhauser police station.
"KwaZulu-Natal police management have strongly condemned acts of vigilantism where members of communities have been accused of taking the law into their own hands. Those found breaking the law will be dealt with, irrespective of the reasons advanced. We always encourage our communities to work with police in the fight against crime," says Zwane.
