53-year-old man in Tongaat double-murder arrested

The man accused of murdering a mother and her daughter in Tongaat, north of Durban, has handed himself over to police.

Last week, the bodies of 33-year-old Nombuso Dube and her 70-year-old mother, Mtokozile were discovered at their home near Fairbreeze.
Both women had been shot in what is believed to have been a domestic dispute.

"A 53-year-old suspect who allegedly killed two women at Tongaat this week - handed himself over at the Pietermaritzburg police station yesterday. He was then transferred to Tongaat station where he will be charged with two counts of murder. Unlicensed firearms suspected to be used during the shooting were also recovered.
"The suspect is expected to appear in the Verulam Magistrate's Court soon," Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele said.
