Woman killed in Tongaat double murder 'kind, lively'
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
One of the woman killed in a double murder in Tongaat - north of Durban - at the weekend has been described as kind and energetic.
33-year-old, Nombuso Dube and her mother were shot dead at their home in Fairbreeze on Sunday.
The gunmen, allegedly known to Dube, fled the scene and remains at large. Dube was the regional treasurer for the National Union of Mineworkers.
NUM's Mathapelo Khanye says they've been liasing with the family regarding funeral arrangements.
"She was somebody that was taking cognisance on the issues that she was dealing with. We cannot as women always be on street - talking about brutal killings and nothing happens. We cannot stand that. Pepetrators have to be held accountable. We believe that the death penalty should be brought back," Khanye said.
