5 people including child hurt in ski boat accident

Two people are being treated in hospital following a boat accident in Port Edward.

The National Sea Rescue Institute says five people were aboard a ski boat on the Umtamvuna River last night.
Spokesperson, Craig Lambinon says it appears it crashed into a shoreline cliff face.

"On arrival on the scene two men and two women were treated for injuries and a child was assessed by the paramedics and treated for shock."
"One man and woman were transported to the hospital for serious injuries sustained in the accident. Police and SA Maritime Authority are investigating the accident."
