5 arrests made in connection with Sydenham man's murder

A friend of Sydenham father who was murdered last year hopes justice will be served - now that five suspects will be appearing in court next week.
Adam Venter, 32, was shot in November in his Barns Road home.
Four of his alleged killers were nabbed last week.
Police arrested a fifth suspect in Wentworth on Monday.

Two of the accused are suspected to be linked to other murder cases in Sydenham.
Venter's friend, who chose not to be named - says he is happy about the arrests.
"This is closure for his family and friends, to know that the people who committed this murder is put behind bars."
"We were all very, very sad. He was an innocent person who wouldn't even harm a fly. He was always smiling, always happy. I am sure when everyone hears [about the arrests] will be very happy."
