4 killed in head-on collision on N2

Four people have been killed in a head-on collision on the N2 north at Tugela Bridge.

IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says two people died when their vehicle caught alight, between Mandeni and Zinkwazi - on Monday morning.
"Another vehicle had two patients inside the bakkie. Our first inspection, we found that the driver of the bakkie was in a critical condition.

"Advanced life support resuscitation started on the patient. Unfortunately, due to his injuries, the patient was declared dead shortly after the arrival of the paramedics. A total of four patients are deceased on the scene."
It's understood that contraband, including dagga and cigarettes, were found inside the burnt vehicle.
