2017 Year in Review: Tough times for the Mugabes

2017 was a rough year for Robert and Grace Mugabe.
Grace Mugabe grabbed headlines in August after allegedly assaulting a woman at a Sandton hotel.
20-year-old South African model, Gabrielle Engels claimed the then Zimbabwean first lady beat her with an electricity extension cord.

Mugabe denied the allegations, saying Engels attacked her with a knife.
The Mugabe's year continued to unravel when the 93-year-old resigned as Zimbabwean president after 37 years in office.

Emmerson Mnangagwa was sworn is as the country's new leader.
