2017 Year in Review: Michaelhouse pupil killed in N3 bus crash

The Midlands community was rocked by a tragic bus accident near Pietermaritzburg in September in which Michaelhouse pupil, Themba Dloti was killed.
Boys from the Midlands private school had been travelling on a private bus from Michaelhouse to Bothas Hill for soccer fixtures against Kearsney College when the vehicle overturned on Town Hill.

Around 40 other people were hurt in the crash.
Michaelhouse rector, Greg Theron said the entire school community, staff and old boys were in shock after the news broke.
The story solicited dozens of comments from listeners who all sent their condolences to Dloti's family and friends.

A memorial service was held for the Grade 10 pupil at the school. The 16-year-old was was laid to rest in Johannesburg.
