2 men in court after PMB police seize 495 SASSA cards

Two suspects, allegedly found in possession of close to 500 SASSA and bank cards, are due to line up in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Police nabbed the pair on the N3 near Ashburton on Saturday.
SAPS spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says acting on a tip-off, officers searched their bakkie and found 495 social grant cards and another 84 bank cards.
"They could not provide police with an explanation for having these cards in their possession and were immediately arrested.
"Police also seized a licensed firearm with 19 rounds of ammunition from the driver and his bakkie was also seized for further investigation.

"Both men aged 44 and 51 will be charged for fraud and possession of suspected stolen property."
SASSA in KZN has welcomed the arrests.
It's said in a statement that the modus operandi used by these syndicates - is known as e-wallet.
They transfer money out of the cards into the cell phone numbers linked to the sim cards.
