2 men gunned down in Pietermaritzburg

Two men have been shot and killed in the Pietermaritzburg CBD.

Emergency services say it appears the pair - believed to have been in their 40s - were shot while seated in their vehicle on the corner of Boshoff and Burger Street earlier.

Netcare 911's Shawn Herbst says they had multiple gunshot wounds.
"Paramedics assessed both patients however they showed no signs of life and were sadly declared deceased on the scene."
"As per members of the public who were on scene when the shooting occurred they believe it may be related to the taxi industry."
"Circumstances leading up to the incident are not yet known however SAPS are on scene and have secured the area for investigators."
