11 pupils hurt in crash on M4 in Merebank

Eleven schoolchildren have been injured in a crash involving a taxi on the M4 southern freeway in Merebank.

ALS Paramedic's Garrith Jamieson says when they arrived on the scene on Friday, they found that a minibus taxi and another vehicle had collided by the Himalayas Road offramp.
The children were found on the roadway and more ambulances were called in to assist.

The schoolgoers sustained various injuries and were stabilised on scene before being taken to hospital.
Police were on the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
