It was meant to end this week, but Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda has signed the extension - with a new end date of New Year's Eve.
City spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela says they understand that most people are bearing the brunt of the impact of the pandemic and need more time to settle outstanding debt.
"If you are a resident, you are now expected to pay 15 to 25 percent of the debt you are owing since lockdown.

"If you are a business you are expected to pay 25 to 50 percent of the debt and will, therefore, have to enter into an arrangement for 24months for you to be able to settle the outstanding amount.
"We are therefore appealing to all our residents to grab this opportunity," says Mayisela.
