Vusi Nova is feeling emotional after receiving a precious gift that once belonged to Zahara.

He revealed that the late singer's family has given him some of her guitars. Zahara, whose real name was Bulelwa Mkutukana, owned several guitars.

"I can’t guys, my heart," Vusi captioned a video of himself playing one of her guitars.

Zahara passed away on December 11 at the age of 36. Her official cause of death has not been released yet but she was reportedly admitted to the hospital for liver complications.

Zahara is a self-taught guitarist.

"When I was in matric, my parents bought my sister a guitar, although she never used it. One day I just decided to take the guitar and start teaching myself how to play it. My friend would lend me DVDs of musicians like Lauryn Hill and India Arie. I would watch those DVD’s and watch how they played the guitar, look at their finger placements, and so on. I basically taught myself to play a guitar," News Day Zimbabwe quoted her as saying in an interview.

Vusi says he is thankful that the 'Loliwe' singer's family has given him some of her guitars.

"Zahara’s family did one of the most beautiful things ever! They just dropped off some of her collection of guitars and said they know she would have wanted me to have them. Thank you so much!" he wrote.

Vusi and Zahara were close friends until her passing. According to reports, he visited her in the hospital.

"Days are not the same. Some days she is fine, getting better and some days I leave there crying. At the moment she is not awake or speaking... It breaks my heart. Bulelwa is very out there, bossy, vibrant, expressive. To see her in that light is frustrating for me," he told Zimoja a few days before her death.

Vusi paid tribute to Zahara by sharing some of his fondest memories with her. He said he will always "cherish" the moments they shared.

"It’s gonna take me a while to get over this one if ever."
