Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp has announced her next big project - wine with a cause!

The media personality has launched a new wine label called, Annabelle Shiraz. "Today a dream comes true," she wrote on Instagram on Thursday.

Elana says her new business venture "not only celebrates the art of winemaking, but it also aims to make a meaningful impact by empowering aspiring sommeliers".

The media personality has teamed up with De Grendel Wine Estate to launch the Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp & De Grendel Sommelier Bursary, in association with the South African Sommelier Association.

Elana's wine will help fund Sommelier training and mentorship. What started out as a hobby has turned into something bigger than she could have ever imagined.

"Using our talent for good, and to effect change, is a cornerstone of my upbringing. My father always taught us to help where we can, and where we see a need," she said in a statement.

The wine is named after her daughter Annabelle. The 2017 vintage was made during her birth year.

“Launching this new label, named after my youngest daughter, is a blessing. Being able to help a previously disadvantaged learner through the support of our wine-buying community is the highest honour for me. Wine making is a hobby for me, but finally we can help someone through this," Elana added.

The 'Baby Brunch' podcast host's love for winemaking started many years ago. In 2012, 'Elana Wine' won Michelangelo Gold.

There's not doubt that Elana's new wine will be just as exceptional.

"The Annabelle Wine embodies our shared values of quality, innovation, and social responsibility. This collaboration allows us to contribute to the growth of the wine community while producing wines that tell a story of dedication and craftsmanship," cellar master Charles Hopkins says.

Annabelle Shiraz by Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp is available on the De Grendel website.
