Thuso Mbedu shines at 'The Woman King' premiere in Toronto

Doing KZN proud! Thuso has been looking all kinds of amazing during the press tour for her new film.

The countdown to the big screen debut of Thuso Mbedu's feature film with Viola Davis has begun. 

The Pietermaritzburg-born actress was recently in Canada for the official premiere of 'The Woman King'. The movie debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). 

Thuso walked the red carpet alongside her castmates in a gorgeous dress from French luxury fashion house, Balmain. 

Viola stood out in an orange and pink dress designed by fashion label, Greta Constantine. 

"No words to describe the exhilaration, joy, electric energy, blood, sweat, tears of the World Premiere of #TheWomanKing!! Thank you @tiff_net! Thank you Toronto! Cannot wait for the world to see," she wrote on Instagram.

South African actor Siv Ngesi was also spotted at the premiere. 

"Thank you 'Toronto International Film Festival', you were able to ignite a little flame inside of me!" he wrote on Instagram.

Siv is one of several South African stars who feature in the film.

'The Woman King' will make its big screen debut in America on Friday, September 16. It will be shown exclusively in 3,000 cinemas. 

The film will hit SA cinemas on September 30. Thuso shared some of her favourite moments from the film's TIFF press tour.

The 31-year-old and some of her cast members are Essence magazine's latest cover stars. They feature on the magazine's digital cover. 

"What did I tell you about my @womankingmovie co-stars? Top tier brilliance," Thuso captioned a picture of the cover.
