Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour' concert film is a box office success. The film earned a massive $39-million (R733-million) in America on Friday, October 13.
Its total opening weekend is expected to surpass $100-million (R1.8-billion) in North America, and over $126-million (R2.3-billion) globally.
The film could become the biggest October opening weekend in box office history. 'Joker', starring Joaquin Phoenix and Robert De Niro, currently holds the North American record. It earned $96.2-million during its October opening weekend in 2019.
'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 32 reviews.
"I can’t thank you enough for wanting to see this film that so vividly captures my favorite adventure I’ve ever been a part of: The Eras Tour. And the best part is, it’s an adventure we’re still on together," Taylor wrote on Instagram ahead of the film's release.
The next leg of the 33-year-old's 'Eras Tour' will kick off in Brazil in November. Taylor will also visit Japan, Australia, Singapore, France, Sweden, and more before the tour ends in November 2024.

Beyoncé will also be releasing her own concert film at cinemas.
'Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé' will hit cinemas on December 1. Queen B showed Taylor some love at the premiere of her concert film on Friday.
The singers posed for pictures on the red carpet. They were also spotted sitting together inside the theatre.
"’Im so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce‘s influence. The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale," Taylor said about Beyoncé.
