It's been almost two years since Shakira and her ex-partner Gerard Piqué called it quits, but there is still one unanswered question on everyone's mind.

Did his alleged mistress eat the singer's jam?

Shakira and Gerard split in June 2022 after more than 11 years and two children together.

"We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy," the pair said in a joint statement.

The former lovers did not give any reason for the separation, but rumours started to swirl that Gerard was cheating. It didn't help that he began dating Clara Chia Marti two months after the split.

The cheating claims were never confirmed, but that didn't stop the tabloids from running wild with crazy stories.

One story that gained much traction in 2023 involved a jar of strawberry jam

According to several reports, the 'Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)' hitmaker found out the former Barcelona FC footballer was cheating when she returned from a trip and noticed someone had eaten her jam.

Gerard, and their two children - Milan and Sasha, apparently do not like the jam.

Speaking to The Sunday Times in a new interview, the 47-year-old says the jam rumour is false.

"Not true,” the singer said.

Shakira told the publication that she put her career on hold for her ex. "For a long time I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football. There was a lot of sacrifice for love."

The 'Hips Don't Lie' singer pours her heart out in her new album, 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran', which means, 'Women No Longer Cry'.

"There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled in front of my eyes and I had to rebuild myself in a way, picking up the bones from the floor and putting them all together. And the glue that kept it all together was music," she said.
