'Sapphire' - Ed Sheeran releases music video shot in Indian
Updated | By Music Reporter
The British singer says 'Sapphire' is his favourite song on his upcoming album.

Ed Sheeran showcases the beauty of Indian in his 'Sapphire' music video.
The video was shot on the streets of India and features appearances from scores of locals, including a junior football team in Shillong.
He gifted the boys pink shirts, which they proudly wore on the pitch.
Sheeran says 'Sapphire' helped shape the direction of his eighth studio album, 'Play'.
"'Sapphire' was the first song I finished for 'Play' that made me know where the album was heading. It’s why I finished the recording process in Goa surrounded by some of the best musicians in India. It was an incredible creative process," he wrote on Instagram.
The clips featured in the 34-year-old's music video were shot during his 'Mathematics World Tour' in the country a few months ago.
He made headlines in February when Indian police unplugged his mic while he performed 'Shape of You' on Church Street in Bengaluru.
"I shot the music video with @liampethickphoto and @nicminns across my India tour earlier this year. We wanted to showcase the beauty and breadth of the country and its culture," he said.
Indian artist Arijit Singh, who provides backing vocals on the song, also appears in the visuals. According to Sheeran, the pair are also working on a special version of the track.
"The final jigsaw piece for me was getting @arijitsingh on the record, I’ll make a post about that in a few days, but it was a journey to get there and such an amazing day of music and family. Me and him have done a full Punjabi version of the song that will come out in the next few weeks, which has a lot more of him on it.
"This is the album version of the song, and my favourite song on the album. Hope you guys love it," he said.
Sheeran has released two songs from 'Play'.
The album's lead single, 'Azizam,' is currently at #2 on the ECR Top 40 with Styles (Brought to you by CTM).
