Warner Bros. Pictures has given fans a first look at Robert Pattinson as 'The Batman'.

American filmmaker Matt Reeves shared a two-minute teaser from the movie during a DC FanDome event at the weekend.

The former 'Twilight' star kicks butt - literally - as Bruce Wayne. When the actor was first announced as the new Batman, comic book lovers were skeptical about how the star would handle such a gritty role.

The teaser has received rave reviews on social media, with many praising everything from Robert's performance to his Batsuit - which reportedly took a year to design.

"Still speechless after seeing that incredible teaser trailer for #TheBatman...Can’t wait to see more," one Twitter user wrote.

Another user added: "Edward Cullen looks good in the Batsuit!

We also get a glimpse of Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman in the new teaser.

'The Batman' is only set to hit cinemas in 2021 and is currently still in production. Like many productions, work on 'The Batman' was halted amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We were in the beginning stages of production when COVID hit, so now I am very anxious to get back to work and continue to form this beloved character, I've always been a massive fan," Robert said via a video link.

Several other trailers dropped during DC FanDome last week, including 'Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League' and 'Wonder Woman 1984'.
