Rebel Wilson is being called out for comments she made about Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, during a recent interview on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’.

The actress-comedian told host Andy Cohen about a recent encounter she had with Prince Harry and Meghan in Santa Barbara, California - where the couple is based.

She bumped into the royals while out with her mother, Sue Bownds. Rebel explained that she does not know them personally but they have a mutual friend who plays polo.

"We went up to Santa Barbara, met Harry - could not have been nicer... but then Meghan was not as cool. She wasn't as naturally warm," the 43-year-old said.

"My mom being Australian asked her these slightly rude questions... like, 'Where are your kids?' And I am like ma don't ask her that. Maybe that's why she was like who are these annoying convicts from Australia?" she laughed.

While Meghan's detractors applauded Rebel for exposing her, many pointed out that Rebel had made mean jokes about Meghan and should not have expected a warm welcome.

She joked about their interview with Oprah Winfrey at the BAFTAs in March last year.

"Our next package is for Outstanding British Film," the 'Senior Year' actress told the audience.

She then joked: "From drama to fantasy, Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview had it all… Unfortunately, that's not nominated in this category, but some incredible films are. Let's take a look at some of the most outstanding British films this year."

Some also pointed out that Rebel recently slammed people who asked her about her baby. She was pictured out partying shortly after welcoming her first child, Royce Lillian, via surrogate.

"'I sure as heck wouldn’t have left my newborn to go partying the week she was born! Whether I had birthed her myself or not is irrelevant!' one Instagram user told her, according to the Daily Mail.

Rebel addressed the backlash in an interview with the 'Life Uncut' podcast a few months later.

"I was shocked at the criticism because Chris Hemsworth goes to the gym, and people aren't yelling, 'Where's your kids?' But why do they do it to every woman?" she asked.

Rebel has been called a hypocrite for expecting Meghan to happily answer her mother's "where are your children?" remarks.

One Twitter user wrote: "Rebel Wilson mocked Meghan Markle traumatic abusive experience live on television. She is friends with those who made Meghan's life a living hell. That hypocrite Rebel also didn't want intrusion on her children. Karen s** stirrer is what this vile creature is. Karma will get her."

"After mocking Meghan's mental health struggle, Rebel Wilson and her mom felt entitled to be rude to her and yet expected Meghan to smile and be warm and friendly with them. I don’t know why some people are so desperate to dehumanize Meghan? It’s a diabolical behavior!" another user wrote.
