PICS: All the celebrity looks from the 2021 Met Gala

They don't call it “fashion's biggest night out" for nothing! The Met Gala is the must-attend event of the year and only the crème de la crème of the entertainment industry get an invite.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's fundraising benefit is organised by Vogue's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. 

The theme for this year's event is 'In America: A Lexicon of Fashion' or 'American Independence'.

The A-list stars who bagged an invite to the gala interpreted the theme in many ways. Kim Kardashian turned heads in an all-black Balenciaga look. 

The outfit featured a blacked-out head covering, which means nobody could see the reality star's face!

Social media users are convinced that Kim was styled by Kanye West. While Vogue magazine praised Kim for going the extra mile, many thought the bizarre outfit was a miss.

Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, also made an eyebrow-raising appearance. The "Work' hitmaker also turned heads in an all-black Balenciaga outfit. 

There were mixed reactions to the look. While fashion critics say she shut down the red carpet, the average man on the street was not impressed.

"Is Rihanna wearing a beanie to the #MetGala. Bathong lona … This proves that after the pandemic nobody gives af anymore," one Twitter user wrote.

A$AP Rocky's quilt-inspired look was also given a major thumbs down.
