The 2024 Met Gala red carpet delivered some of the best fashion looks of the year - and we are only in May!

The annual gala was held in New York City on Monday night.

The theme for this year's event was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, while the dress code was ‘The Garden of Time’.

Doja Cat arrived in a towel! She then changed into a wet t-shirt look, which was equally, uhm, interesting.

South African singer Tyla attended her first Met Gala and did not disappoint. Her custom Balmain dress earned her a spot on several best-dressed lists.

She later changed into a mini version of her sand dress.

Here's a look at some of the most talked about looks at the 2024 Met Gala.

Zendaya

Zendaya, who was styled by Lawrence Roach, was crowned best dressed after wearing not one but two outfits on the red carpet. She arrived in a custom Maison Margiela dress that was very much on theme.

Her second look, a black Givenchy gown, stole the show. It featured an Alexander McQueen headpiece.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez wowed in a custom Schiaparelli gown. "One thing about JLo is she’s gonna absolutely devour every look," one fan wrote about the dress.

Mindy Kaling

Mindy Kaling looked like a modern Disney fairy godmother in this stunning Gaurav Gupta dress.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner slayed in Oscar de la Renta. Her mother, Kris Jenner, was also dressed by the designer. She wore a custom ivory satin outfit with floral appliqués.

Kendall Jenner

Kylie's big sister Kendall Jenner wore vintage Givenchy.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian also made an appearance at this year's Met Gala. She was dressed by John Galliano. Despite the look getting rave reviews from some fashionistas, many thought she ruined the look by adding a "raggedy" sweater.

Kim was also slammed for promoting unrealistic beauty standards. She wore a corset that was cinched in so tightly it made her waist look unnaturally tiny.

"As a first responder, she looks like she about to faint," one Instagram user wrote.

Another user added: "I feel like this kind of imagery is dangerous for young women. It’s so unattainable and unrealistic."

Cardi B

Cardi B's Windowsen gown could not be missed, and not just because it probably took up half of the red carpet. Her stylist, Kollin Carter, described her look as 'The Black Rebellious Rose'.

Mona Patel

Entrepreneur Mona Patel's Iris Van Herpen butterfly gown came alive on the red carpet. It featured 3D kinetic butterflies that opened and closed.

Naomi Campbell

Supermodel Naomi Campbell seemed to have missed the theme but looked stunning in her Burberry dress.

Alia Bhatt

Actress Alia Bhatt looked stunning in Sabyasachi.

"Nothing embodies tradition and innovation like the saree; in the skilled hands of @sabyasachiofficial, this vision found its fullest expression. We looked to the past as a guide for the future, drawing inspiration from the timeless sophistication of Indian nobility," she wrote on Instagram.
