'MC16' is coming! Mariah Carey teases new song
Updated | By Entertainment Reporter
What's your type? Mariah Carey is Team Dangerous.

Mariah Carey likes 'em dangerous.
The singer-songwriter will release a new song, 'Type: Dangeous,' on Friday, June 6. The 56-year-old teased the song on social media this week.
"What’s your type?" she captioned a clip of herself sitting in a McLaren 720S Spider. She is listening to her 2005 classic 'It's Like That'.
She then skips the song to play a track titled 'T:D_MC16.mp3'.
"To show my appreciation for your support, thank you DJs," Carey says in the track, which has a club beat.
The car's licence plate is also MC16, which fans believe confirms that the 16th studio album is on the way.
A second post showed her putting lipstick on in the car while a song, presumably her new single, plays faintly in the background.
"The way I’m listening to this over and over, trying to decipher the lyrics. This is about to be an ERA!" one fan wrote.
Another commented: "Do I hear, 'I wanna drive with the top down'?"
A third post shows Carey wearing a white top with the name of her new single printed on it.
"I like 'em dangerous..." she captioned the image.
The singer's 'Lambs' cannot contain their excitement over her upcoming release and news that 'MC16' could drop in 2025.
"She’s coming to save the music industry again," one fan said. Another added: "The queen is back."
Carey's last studio album was 2018's Caution, which produced songs such as 'With You' and 'A No No'.
Her new project couldn't come at a better time. The 'Honey' hitmaker recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of her 'The Emancipation of Mimi' album.
She also has a new song, 'One Heart, One Voice,' coming out soon with Barbra Streisand and Ariana Grande.
While talking about her new album earlier this year, Carey was careful not to give too much away.
"I have a lot I want to do. I’m busy. I’m writing new material, so there is new music and a new album coming some time in the future. I’m not sure when. I’m just enjoying the songwriting process," she told Best magazine.
