'The Little Mermaid' star Halle Bailey has revealed that she suffers from severe postpartum depression.

The 24-year-old singer-actress welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Halo, with rapper DDG in December last year.

Speaking in a video shared on Snapchat, Halle told her followers: "Honestly, I have severe, severe postpartum. I don't know if any new moms can relate, but it's to the point where it's really bad, and it's hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out."

Halle also revealed in the clip that was shared last week that she doesn't feel normal in her own body after giving birth to her son.

“When I look at him and I cry because of how special he is. The only thing that has been hard for me is feeling normal in my own body. It’s crazy. I feel like a completely different person when I look in the mirror, I just feel like I’m in a whole new body. I don’t know who I am.”

The singer, who is one half of the Grammy-nominated duo Chloe x Halle, says postpartum depression sometimes feels like she is swimming in an ocean and experiencing the biggest waves she has ever felt.

"You’re trying not to drown, and you’re trying to come up for air. You have those moments where you come up for air and they feel like the most beautiful things and it’s great. Then, you have those moments where you’re drowning in it. It has nothing to do with my baby, it has everything to do with me and who I am right now.”
