There is just no stopping South Africa's golden boy, Trevor Noah.

The comedian's stand-up special, 'Trevor Noah: Son of Patricia',  has received a Grammy Award nomination.

Trevor is nominated in the 'Best Comedy Album' category, alongside Ellen DeGeneres, Dave Chappelle, Jim Gaffigan and Aziz Ansari.

The 35-year-old revealed that he got emotional after hearing about his nomination.

"Today I woke up to the news that I’ve been nominated for a Grammy award. A GRAMMY AWARD!!! And just when I thought the feeling couldn’t get any better I saw the other names in my category and I almost cried," he wrote on Instagram.

Trevor described Chappelle as his "mentor and friend". He called the Amerian comedian a "legend" who pushes him to be funnier every time he gets on stage.

He also praised the other nominees in his category.

"Ellen DeGeneres- my watch buddy and talk show/stand up idol. Aziz Ansari- My comedy cellar comrade. Where we would work our ideas every night. Jim Gaffigan- A comedy genius who has made me cry laughing every time I’ve watched him on stage and every time we’ve hung out off stage!"

'The Daily Show' host said he is feeling blessed.

"What a life I’ve been blessed enough to live. Thank you mom."

The Grammys are taking place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 27, 2020.

News of Trevor's nomination comes a few weeks after he became the first African comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden.

The comedian's 'Loud and Clear Tour' made a stop in New York earlier this month and was packed to capacity.
