Ellen DeGeneres has no plans to return to the entertainment business full-time. The 66-year-old announced in May that she will release a new comedy special in 2024; however, she recently revealed that it will be her last hurrah.

'The Ellen Show' aired its last episode in June 2022 after 19 seasons. Two years earlier, Ellen's show was accused of being a toxic workplace, which tarnished her reputation.

Ellen has been keeping a fairly low profile since then. She came out of "hiding" this year to promote her stand-up comedy tour, 'Ellen's Last Stand... Up'.

During a recent stop on her stand-up tour, Ellen discussed her future in showbusiness.

"Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me. I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean,” she told the audience, according to SFGATE.

Ellen admitted she can be "demanding and impatient and tough" as a boss but would never intentionally hurt anyone.

"I am many things, but I am not mean."

During the Q&A segment of her show, a fan asked if she would make a movie or go to Broadway next. Ellen made it clear that her tour was the end of the road for her.

"Um, no. This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done," SFGATE quoted her.

Ellen's Netflix comedy special is expected to premiere on the streaming service later this year.

"Here we go! To answer the questions everyone is asking me – Yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes this is my last special. Yes, Portia [de Rossi] really is that pretty in real life," she said about her special in May.
