Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters jets off to Las Vegas for Miss Universe
Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is ready to fly South Africa's flag high at the Miss Universe pageant.
Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters flew to Las Vegas on Thursday to take part in the Miss Universe pageant.
The 22-year-old shared a video on Instagram from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
She says she can't wait to get to Sin City, and hopes to make SA proud.
"I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for this opportunity, South Africa I carry you in my heart all the way," she said on Instagram.
The pageant takes place on November 26, and will be hosted by American TV host Steve Harvey.
South Africa last won Miss Universe 39 years ago, and if anyone can bring the crown home, it is Demi-Leigh.
