Celebs attend 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' Jozi premiere

Black Panther Day! 'Wakanda Forever' is officially out in South African cinemas.

South Africa's A-list stars walked the red carpet at the 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' premiere in Johannesburg this week.

The premiere was held in Rosebank ahead of the movie's Friday release date. 

Connie Chiume - who plays a mining tribe elder - made a grand entrance at the premiere. She received loud applause when she came down an escalator with her hands in the 'Wakanda Forever' salute.

The 70-year-old also attended the film's global premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood in October. She rubbed shoulders with stars such as Rihanna and Michael Ealy.

The South African premiere was also a star-studded affair. Celebrities such as Pearl Thusi, Linda Mtoba, Tyla, Busiswa Gqulu, LeAnne Dlamini, and Miss South Africa 2022, Ndavi Nokeri, attended.

'Black Panther 2' will also be released in North American cinemas on Friday. Rihanna surprised her fans on Thursday by releasing a new single, 'Born Again, for the film's soundtrack. 

She debuted the song two weeks after dropping 'Life Me Up', which is the movie's official lead single. The track was her first new solo song in six years.
