Excitement is building up ahead of the release of 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'. The Marvel/Disney film's world premiere is taking place in Hollywood this week, before hitting cinemas next month.

South Africans will get to watch the movie on November 11. Fans will bid a bittersweet farewell to the film's lead, Chadwick Boseman, who lost his battle with cancer in August 2020.

The trailer for the sequel shows the people of Wakanda paying tribute to Chadwick's character, T'Challa (Black Panther).

The first 'Black Panther' movie was released in 2018 and went on to earn a whopping $1.348-billion at the box office.

The sequel is on track for an impressive showing at the box office. Advance ticket sales are selling fast. According to Deadline,  'Black Panther; Wakanda Forever' is on track to bring in $175-million (R3-billion) at the North American box office during its opening weekend - making it the second-highest opening of 2022.

Fans are eager to see how the film will handle the massive hole Chadwick has left behind.

The film's synopsis reads: "Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda."

The big question on everyone's mind is who will be the new Black Panther. Movie lovers are predicting that T'Challa's sister, Shuri, will step in to fill his shoes.
