Brandy set to reprise her role as Cinderella

The singer is looking forward to wearing her glass slippers again.

R&B star Brandy has signed on to reprise her role as Cinderella. The 'Missing You' hitmaker will star in the  Disney+ original film, 'The Pocketwatch'. 

According to Variety, the movie is part of the 'Descendants' franchise. Brandy first played the role in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella in 1997. 

Whitney Houston appeared in the musical film as the Fairy Godmother. Whoopi Goldberg, Paolo Montalbán, Jason Alexander, and Veanne Cox also featured.

Brandy says she is looking forward to playing Cinderella again. 

"So excited to join this amazing cast and reprise my role as #Cinderella in the #DisneyDescendants sequel The Pocketwatch. Thank you to my @disney and @disneyplus fam. It’s Still Possible," the 43-year-old wrote on Instagram.

British singer Rita Ora has also signed on to play Queen of Hearts in the movie. Kylie Cantrall will play her daughter Red in the film. 

Red is described as a rebellious teenager who must join forces with Cinderella and Prince Charming's daughter Chloe (played by Mia Baker) to prevent a coup. 

"Red must join forces with Chloe to travel back in time via the White Rabbit’s pocketwatch to stop an event that would lead to grave consequences," according to Variety.
