'Am I the Drama?' - Cardi B announces new album
After seven years of life, love and loss, Cardi B is ready to bring the drama!
Cardi B shared an exciting update about her next music project.
The 'Bodak Yellow' rapper has announced the title and release date of her sophomore album.
"AM I THE DRAMA? 🐦⬛ My new album is out September 19th!" she wrote on Instagram.
Cardi B also shared the album's cover art. It shows her wearing a bright red outfit with a dramatic high collar, sky-high heels and matching fishnet stockings.
A flock of birds surrounds her. It's giving unbothered queen!
'Am I the Drama?' is Cardi B's first album in seven years. She released her debut album, 'Invasion of Privacy', in 2018.
It produced hits such as 'Bodak Yellow', 'Money', and 'Be Careful'. Guest features included SZA, YG, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, Kehlani and Chance the Rapper.
It won 'Best Rap Album' at the 2019 Grammys. Cardi B's new album announcement was made shortly after she dropped a new single, 'Outside'.
The song soared to #1 on the US Apple Music chart.
"Wow, I can't believe I am number 1 on Apple Music... It's been a minute. Like, I'm so thankful and grateful," she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
The track is reportedly directed at her soon-to-be ex-husband, rapper Offset. He allegedly cheated on her multiple times throughout their marriage.
"If I can handle that, let me see you handle this/ Do you how you do me, bet you we won't speak again/ Favourite player from your favourite team, he in my DM," she raps in the song.
It looks like Cardi B is just getting started. In her album teaser, she gave her fans a taste of what to expect.
"Seven years of love, life, and loss. Seven years, I gave them grace, but now, I give them hell," she said in the clip.
"I learned power is not given, it’s taken. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back, I’m beyond. I’m not your villain, I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now.”
It's been a minute, but she is bigger and badder than ever!
