The death of a loved one is never easy to deal with.

One cannot begin to understand the pain that a mother would feel after losing her child, especially to murder.

AKA's mother, Lynn Forbes, has been sharing her grieving journey with followers on social media.

Over the weekend, Lynn spoke about about the ups and downs of mourning her son's death.

"I miss you so much Kiernan. Some days I’m a warrior. Some days I’m a broken mess. Most days I’m a bit of both, but everyday I have to be here Standing. Fighting. Trying," she wrote.

The mother of two says the most helpful thing someone said to her during the painful time of mourning AKA was: “Whatever you are feeling, and whenever you are feeling it …. it’s OK”.

She also shared the worst things she has been told.

"• How are you feeling?

• At least he didn’t suffer

• It was God’s plan

• God never gives you more than you can handle

• Be strong."

AKA's girlfriend, Nadia Nakai, has also taken to social media to share the pain she is suffering.

The rapper says that although people have told her she will learn to live with the pain, she is battling to believe that.

"This pain is just too much to bare, everyone says it’s something I will learn to live with. I just don’t believe it. Everyday it just gets worse," she wrote on Instagram.

She added that she doesn't know how to deal with how she is feeling.

"I don’t know how to deal with this. Saying it hurts doesn’t explain the level of this pain. This hole in my heart will never be filled. People go through heartache and are held together through their grieve by their partner. How do I deal with the grieve of losing my partner, the person that was supposed to support me is who I’ve lost. God, I miss you Kiernan," she wrote.
