AKA would be proud! Kairo Forbes wins social media award
Kairo has thanked 'The Megacy' for helping her win an award.
DJ Zinhle is beaming with pride after her daughter Kairo Forbes won her first big award at the South African Social Media Awards (SASMA).
Kairo, whose father is rapper, Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes, was recognised in the 'Social Media Kid Influencer' category.
She was up against young influencers such as DJ Arch Jr., Sbahle Mzizi, Siba Bogopa, and Alakhe Mdoda.
"This accolade is dedicated to the young, dynamic influencers under the age of 18 who have been relentlessly shaping their presence on social media platforms. With captivating content that garners views and engages audiences, these rising stars often collaborate with sponsors," SASMA said.
Kairo, who attended the awards with her glammy, AKA's mother Lynn Forbes, was visibly shocked when her name was called.
"We did it Glammy!!! Thank you to mom, dad and my family for all your love and support, to everyone who voted for me, especially The Megacy," a post on the eight-year-old's Instagram page reads.

Shortly after the awards, DJ Zinhle shared an Instagram post with a sweet post dedicated to the special people in her life, including Kairo.
"So happy for you! You make me so proud," she wrote.
The post also featured AKA's girlfriend, Nadia Nakai, Moozlie, Pearl Thusi, and Zinhle's husband, Bongani 'Murdah Bongz' Mohosana.
Murdah Bongz also gave Kairo a special shout-out after her big win.
"This looks familiar. Proud of you @kairo.forbes, well done and well deserved," he wrote.
Kairo's official Instagram page, which is reportedly managed by Lynn, replied: "Thank you for everything you do for me."
Murdah Bongz has been a big part of Kairo's life since her father AKA was shot dead in Durban in February.
He earned praise from AKA and Zinhle's fans for a post he shared on Kairo's birthday in July.
"@kairo.forbes you are the warmest part of my day," he wrote.
