Community walk to remember Westville residents, highlight safety
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Westville residents are due to hold a memorial walk tomorrow evening to highlight the spate of murders in their community.
A 36-year-old man was shot dead at his home during an armed robbery at the weekend.
It is believed the father of two was fatally shot after he investigated a noise he heard in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A Go Fund Me Campaign has also been launched to raise funds for Gary Mackay's family.
Mackay was shot when three suspects entered his Duncan Drive home on Saturday.
Westville North Community Project and Neighbourhood Watch member, Jean-Pierre Geddes says the community is living in fear. He says there have been four killings in the suburb over the last year.
Police are investigating a case of house robbery and murder while a search for the three suspects continues.
