Updated | By Steve Bhengu
A man has been killed after he was shot by intruders at his home in Westville, west of Durban, this morning.

It is believed he had gone outside to investigate, after hearing some noise, when he was shot. According to Netcare 911 emergency services they found the 36 year-old man lying on the ground.
The service's Chris Botha says paramedics worked tirelessly to resuscitate the man who succumbed to his gun shot wound.
"Paramedics immediately started resuscitation efforts. They tried to resuscitate the man for about 35 minutes but tragically he died on scene due to the sever injuries he had sustained," he said.
"Police were on scene and are busy investigating the cause of the shooting," Botha said.
