She has a big EGO! Adele wins first Emmy!

The 'Hello' singer is just one award away from achieving EGOT status.

Adele is one step closer to joining an elite group of entertainers who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT). 

The British singer bagged a top prize at the Creative Arts Emmys over the weekend. 

The 'Easy On Me' hitmaker's CBS special, 'One Night Only', won in the 'Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded)' category. 

The special featured all of Adele's biggest hits, including songs from her latest album, '30'

Adele's special won four other awards, including 'Best Technical Direction'. 

"Bloody hell I’m pleased as punch! Thank you @mrbenwinston for dropping this round to me this afternoon!! Trust me to officially have an EGO. Thank you so much @televisionacad , I’m so so honored to receive this. Big up to everyone involved. @griffithobservatory thank you for letting me sing up on your mountain and big love to all the other nominees," the 34-year-old captioned a picture of herself carrying her award on Instagram.

Adele has won 15 Grammys throughout her career. In 2013, she scooped an Oscar in the 'Best Original Song' category. 

She won for her James Bond soundtrack, 'Skyfall'.

Eminem is also on his way to EGOT status after his Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show performance with Dr Dre, Snoop, Mary J Blige. Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent won an Emmy.

Eminem has won a total of 15 Grammy awards and received 44 Grammy nominations. His smash hit, 'Lose Yourself', also has an Oscar for 'Best Original Song'.

Former US president Barack Obama also made history at the Emmys. He is the first American president to win a competitive Emmy. 

The 61-year-old won 'Outstanding Narrator' for Netflix's 'Our Great National Parks'. He has also won two Grammys in the 'Spoken Word' category for his audiobooks, 'The Audacity of Hope' and 'A Promised Land'.

The late Chadwick Boseman received 'Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance' for Star Lord T'Challa.

Only 17 people have achieved EGOT status as of 2022. Singer Jennifer Hudson joined the elite group after winning a Tony for 'A Strange Loop' in June. 

She co-produced the broadway play. 

John Legend earned his EGOT status in 2018. He was recognised for his work in 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live'. The singer became the first black male to achieve EGOT status.

Other stars with EGOT status include Whoopi Goldberg, Audrey Hepburn, and Rita Moreno.
