Nasty C signs deal with American record label Def Jam Recordings

South African rapper Nasty C has signed a massive deal with Def Jam Recordings through a joint venture with Universal Music Africa.

A big congratulations goes out to rapper Nasty C, who has signed a deal with legendary hip-hop label, Def Jam Recordings.

He released his new single, 'There They Go', under the record label on Thursday. 

The single is the first song from the upcoming album, 'Zulu Man with Some Power'. 

The music video of the single was also released on Thursday. It was shot in Durban, South Africa. 

It was directed by Andrew Sandler, who has worked with the likes of Lil Wayne and Chris Brown.

In an interview with Billboard, Nasty C said he was very excited to be signed to a label that has produced many legendary musicians.

“It’s powerful to be a part of the Def Jam family. It’s an iconic record label and has made the careers of many of the artists I look up to,” he told the publication.

Def Jam Recordings interim chairman/CEO Jeff Harleston praised Nasty C, calling him an international star with real talent. 

“Nasty C is a unique and forward-thinking artist who is at the forefront of a new generation of rappers emerging from Africa. Def Jam is a globally recognized brand synonymous with excellence in hip-hop, and we are excited to welcome Nasty C — an international star with real vision and talent — into the family,” he told Billboard. 

Messages of congratulations for the star have been pouring in.

Many fans and celebrities have taken to Twitter to congratulate the star.
