John Legend in an Emmy award away from achieving a status many entertainers can only dream of.

The 39-year-old is nominated in the 'Best Actor, Limited Series or TV Movie' category for his starring role in 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert'.

If he goes home with an award on the night, John will officially be a member of the EGOT - Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony - club.

Only 12 stars have achieved EGOT status. Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Rita Moreno, and Mike Nichols are some of the celebrities on the list. John's chances are looking good because he is up for two awards. He has also been nominated for producing the hit show. His fellow executive producers, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, are also an Emmy away from getting EGOTs of their own.

Speaking to Vulture, John says the win would be "cool".

“If it happens, it would be a truly rare group of people to join. To do it with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice would be especially cool, given that this was their show from the beginning. According to them, we’ve done their favorite production in the history of the show. It would be cool if this was the one that put them over the top for the EGOT," he told the publication.

Nobody is more excited about the possibility that the musician's wife Chrissy Teigen.

"13 nominations for Jesus Christ Superstar this morning! John got two emmy nominations! If he wins, he will complete his EGOT and my spike tv award will probably be moved. But it’s ok I AM SO PROUD!" she tweeted.
