Alicia Keys has released the music video for her new song, 'Lifeline'. The track features in the latest adaption of 'The Color Purple' movie.

Alicia first teased the song in November.  "Something I’ve been working on… Lifeline," she captioned a video of herself singing the track at a piano.

The 42-year-old is thrilled to be part of the movie's soundtrack.

"I love this song so much!!!! Don’t we all need a Lifeline?? The @thecolorpurple is so powerfully about sisterhood! About strength and resilience, about the lifeline we can be for each other!" she said in a separate post.

South African musicians, Brenden Praise and Bongani 'Mörda' Mohosana, have also been featured on music from the 'The Color Purple'.

They appear on 'Mysterious Ways (Mörda Remix)'. The original version of the song was recorded by Tamela Mann, Halle Bailey, David Alan Grier and The Color Purple Ensemble.

Tamela features on the remix as well.

Mörda, who is also known as Murdah Bongz, said this week that they are excited to be part of the remix.

"What an honour and privilege it is to be part of 'The Colour Purple' movie. Contributing musically to a film is a dream come true, contributing to a film as huge as 'The Color Purple' is mind-blowing. Thank you 'The Color Purple' for giving me that," he wrote on Instagram.
