Shower drain blockage is very common.

Build-up of soap scum, dirt, small objects and even hair can cause your shower drain to clog.

However, it is very important to keep your shower free from any blockage to avoid unpleasant odors, mildew and mold.

Unblocking your shower drain doesn't have to be difficult.

Instead of spending money to call a plumber, you can simply do it yourself with three things you most likely have in your home. All you need is hot water, vinegar and baking soda.

One of the easiest ways to unblock your shower is to pour boiling water directly down the drain. The boiling water helps dissolve the gunk that is blocking the drain.

The second method is to mix 1/3 cup of baking soda with 1/3 of vinegar in a heat-resistant measuring cup. Pour the solution down your blocked drain. Leave it for an hour, then turn on the shower. The chemical reaction will break up the grime.

Thirdly, you can pour six sachets of baking soda into the drain. Pour six cups of vinegar on top of the baking soda. Wait for ten minutes and then pour hot/ boiling water down the drain.
