Sadly, life doesn’t always go as planned.

Marriage is hard work, especially for the first few years.

Sometimes, even when people love each other, they realise they can’t stay together.

Khaya Mthethwa and Nthandoyenkosi Kunene

Former Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa married Nthandoyenkosi Kunene in December 2017.

The couple had a Zulu-themed wedding at Kunene’s home in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

The wedding happened after the two dated for three months.

Sadly, two years after the two tied the knot, they announced via social media that they were divorcing.

"In the last few days my husband and I have had in depth discussions about our marriage and our young family challenges," Ntando wrote on an Instagram post that has since been removed.

She added: "On Sunday we met my in laws and informed them of our mutual decision for us to file for divorce. I also informed my mother and the rest of my Kunene family who were disappointed with the divorce decision but appreciated the fact that I represented them well at the Mthethwa's in the way they raised and expected from me."

Khaya also spoke about his marriage crumbling in a video:

Claudia Henkel and Orin Roesstorff

Former Miss SA Claudia Henkel and businessman Orin Roesstorff called it quits after four years of marriage.

The couple got married in 2015 and are parents to beautiful twins.

They divorced in February 2019.

Speaking about the divorce on her Facebook page, the former Miss South Africa said: “I know I made the right choice for my twins and for me. So when you comment or see me, don't say: 'I'm sorry' say 'well done for having the courage to choose to be happy'."

Zuluboy and Andiswa Gebashe

Legendary rapper and actor Mxolisi Majozi, AKA Zuluboy, split from his wife Andiswa Gebashe in 2019.

Zuluboy confirmed the divorce last February.

In an interview with iLanga Langesonto, Zuluboy said they separated more than a year ago.

The two were together for five years.

Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali

Award-winning South African DJ Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali had a lavish white wedding in 2017.

The wedding was attended by the who's who in the entertainment industry.

However, shortly after the wedding, rumours started doing the rounds that Black Coffee was cheating.

Enhle confirmed the rumours in an interview with DJ Zinhle on her YouTube show, Sincerely Yours.

"I went through two scandals: one there was a sex tape, one it was just rachetness and I remember in my pain, in my tears, in my strength and in my stillness, there was one day when I thought ‘why do I care so much? Why do I want to listen to society say 'he’s cheated on you twice, leave' what is my heart saying? What is my spirit saying? And my spirit said 'you love him, sit your a** down and do what is best for you and your family'."

The couple, who have two children together, split in 2019. They released an official statement on their social media pages.
