Matric Results: Ways to improve your marks

Passing Matric is the key to higher learning and offers an opportunity for you to pursue the career of your dreams.
Unfortunately, sometimes things don't go as planned and not all learners pass their matric.
If you are one of those who failed matric or did not achieve the results you were aiming for, don't fret.
You can apply for either a re-mark or a re-check. To apply for this, you would need to fill in forms which can be obtained at schools or examination centres.
Another option is to partake in the Department of Basic Education's Second Chance Matric Support Programme. This programme was established in 2016 and aids those who wish to improve their Matric results.
According to DBE, 'candidates that have not met the minimum requirements in the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or matric examinations, and who require no more two subjects to obtain an NSC' qualify for this programme.
However, you need to register before the cut-off date. According to Fundi Connect, registration for the Second Chance Matric Programme (SCMP) began on 1 October 2023, and will conclude on 9 February 2024.
