The Everton Waterfall hike is back this May
Updated | By East Coast Radio
The Everton Waterfall Hike is back, and it’s your chance to soak up epic scenery, fresh air, and a little adventure this May.

The Everton Waterfall Wonderland is back, and it’s happening before winter chills the water.
If you missed it last time, this is your sign to grab those hiking shoes and enjoy a day of fresh air, hidden trails, and breathtaking waterfalls.
This waterfall lovers' hike is happening at the stunning Everton Conservancy, one of SA’s oldest urban conservancies.

If you’re lucky, you might even spot a bushbuck, a sneaky genet, or even a rare caracal!
If you’re a bird nerd, the African crowned eagle has been known to make an appearance, too.
There are two hiking options:
The 3km (Grade 1) hike is super easy, family-friendly, and perfect for beginners and little adventurers.
The 8–10km (Grade 2) hike is a longer, scenic trek for those keen to soak in more nature.
Details are as follows:
Date: 17 May 2025
Time: 12:30 pm sharp, so get there early
Place: Everton Conservancy, Acutts Drive, Everton
You can book your spot via Quicket:
Adults: R99 (3km) | R149 (9km)
Kids (under 13): R79 (3km) | R99 (9km)
Transport is available at R299 per person (3km route only, pick up from North Beach).
A chunk of your ticket goes straight to supporting the conservancy, so you’re adventuring for a good cause!
Make sure to pack these essential items:
Snacks and water
A towel if you’re brave enough for a dip
A small backpack
Good grip hiking shoes (leave the flat soles at home!)
Unless it’s dangerous weather, the hike is on – no matter what. Bonus: A little rain equals fewer bugs.
Book your spot before it sells out again.
