Whether you are looking for free-range eggs, locally made toys or a delicious meal to eat, these KZN food markets have it all.

Bellevue Market (Kloof)

If you enjoy live music, tasty food and locally made craft beer, then Bellevue Market is the place to be on the last Friday of every month. The market, which starts at 5 pm and ends at 9 pm, takes place at the Bellevue Campus property. It makes for the perfect night out for singles, couples, friends and families. It’s the perfect way to enjoy dinner after a busy month. From pizza to curry – there’s something for everyone. Dessert lovers will also enjoy the cakes, tarts and Indian delicacies on offer.

You can also do a little shopping before or after getting something to eat as there are great clothing and décor stalls to browse at the market.

Golden Hours Family Market (31 Uitsig Road, Durban North)

The Golden Hours Family Market comes alive every Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. The wide variety of stalls include food, clothing and craft items.  There’s also live music which creates the perfect environment for a relaxing day out. The market is also pet friendly. Pets on leashes are welcome to join the fun.

I Heart Market (The Hay Store, Point)

The popular I Heart Market takes place on the first Saturday of every month from 9 am to 2 pm at The Hay Store located at Durban’s Point (Waterfront).  The indoor and outdoor space makes for a perfect shopping and eating experience. There are food, drinks, clothing and craft stalls showing the best KZN has to offer.

Karkloof Farmer’s Market (Howick)

You won’t regret waking up bright and early for the Karkloof Farmer’s Market. The market, which starts at 7 am, and ends at 11 am every Saturday, has been running for over a decade. There is no better place to get organic fruit, vegetables and herbs. There are also some delicious cheeses and artisanal breads on offer. Kids can also enjoy themselves in the activities play area.

KZN Vegan Market (Peacevale and Durban North)

The KZN Vegan Market is the place to be for vegans on the hunt for new products to try. The market takes place on the second Saturday of the month. Stalls open from 10 am to 3 pm. There’s a play area for the kids and live music to keep visitors entertained throughout the day. The market alternates between venues in Durban North and Peacevale.

Shongweni Farmers & Craft Market (Shongweni)

You will find just about anything at the Shongweni Farmers & Craft Market. The weekly market takes place every Saturday from 6.30 am to 11.30 am. The whole family is invited, including your beloved pets – provided they are on a leash. Shop for toys, clothes, jewellery and more at the popular market.

Umhlanga Farmers Market (206 Autumn Drive, Prestondale, Umhlanga)

Local is lekker at the Umhlanga Farmers Market. Every Wednesdays between 8 am to 12 pm, scores of Durbanites descend on the market to get their hands on the amazing cheese, artisanal bread, free-range eggs and curated meats on sale. The well-organised market has been trading for 12 years. You can also get your daily coffee fix and shop for homeware made by talented locals.

Maker’s Market at The Litchi Orchard Market (Salt Rock)

The Maker’s Market at The Litchi Orchard Market takes place every second Saturday of every month. Traders open their doors from 9 am to 1 pm. The family-friendly market has lots on offer, including food, drinks and local crafts. There are also some permanent restaurants and shops at the venue.
