The 1980s gave rise to some of the biggest pop songs. Artists such as Michael Jackson and Queen released timeless hits such as 'Another One Bites The Dust' and 'Thriller'.

'Beat It' by Michael Jackson 

The song was released in 1982. After its release, the song went on to win the American Music Awards for Favourite Pop/Rock Video.

'Take On Me' by A-ha

'Take On Me' by A-ha was released in 1984 and is one of the most popular music videos on YouTube, with over a billion views. 

'Don't Stop Believin'' by Journey 

In 1981, Journey released 'Don't Stop Believing' which was nominated for a CMT Music Award for CMT Performance of the Year.  

'Time After Time' by Cyndi Lauper and Rob Hyman

One of the greatest songs ever written is 'Time After Time' by Cyndi Lauper and Rob Hyman. The hit was nominated for 'Song of the Year' at the 1985 Grammy Awards.

'Thriller' by Michael Jackson 

The King of Pop released one of his biggest hits, 'Thriller', in 1982. To this day, it is still a classic. 

'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' by Tears for Fears

Tears for Fears gave the world a hit in 1985 when they released the song, 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World'. The song was certified gold by both Music Canada (MC) and the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

'Livin' On A Prayer' by Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi released a major hit, 'Livin' On A Prayer', which went on to become the second chart-topping single from their third album, 'Slippery When Wet'. The song was released in 1986. 

'Another One Bites The Dust' by Queen 

To this day, Queen's 'Another One Bites The Dust' continues to be a favourite for people all over the world. The song was released in 1980. 

'Don't You (Forget About Me)' by Simple Minds

 From the album, 'The Breakfast Club', 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' proved that Simple Minds was a force to be reckoned with in the 1980s.
