America’s best-known female rock singer of the 1970s, Linda Ronstadt, has been out for the music business for over ten years due to a degenerative disease, similar to Parkinson’s, that has stolen her voice.

Ronstadt was once the most highly-paid woman in rock and roll.

Her album sales and list of awards and accolades show how legendary she is. Some of her achievements include becoming the first female singer to release an alt-country album, 'Hand Sown... Home'. She was also the woman behind one of America's biggest-selling bands, 'The Eagles'.

Because of the great work Ronstadt did during her active years as a singer, she was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latin Recording Academy in 2011 and a special Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 2016.

Last year, a documentary based on her life, 'Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice', premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Some of the singer's biggest songs include: 'When Will I Be Loved', 'I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love With You)', and 'You're No Good'.
