1. 

A truck driver was arrested at Eskom’s Camden station on Tuesday for allegedly tampering with coal, just a week after the utility caught a contractor trying to sabotage operations at the same station.

The Hawks intercepted a taxi on the M41 near uMhlanga on Tuesday afternoon and arrested a 23-year-old man for having commercial explosives in his bag. The taxi driver said he went cold when he found out!

3. 

Germany's players covered their mouths for the team photo before their World Cup opener against Japan on Wednesday in protest against FIFA's refusal to allow rainbow-themed armbands. The rainbow armbands had been viewed as a symbolic protest against laws in Qatar, where homosexuality is illegal.

4. 

City councillor Sakhile Mngadi has urged residents to stockpile water following outages in various areas across the city. They are working on filling up the reservoirs after the staff go-slow affected repairs.

5. 

More than 1,000 soldiers and 230 horses formed part of the pomp and ceremony at Horse Guards Parade in London to welcome President Cyril Ramaphosa. The president is on a state visit to Great Britain at the invitation of King Charles the Third and the British queen consort, Camilla.
