Toney's suspension comes after he committed a serious breach of the Football Association's rules.
He has been found guilty of 'bringing the game into disrepute', and will not be able to take part in any football-related activity during the period of his ban.
This is a huge setback for Toney, who had been tipped to make a big move in the summer window.
He had been linked with a number of top-flight clubs and his performances this season put him in the shop window.
It is a difficult time for Toney, who will now have to sit out for the next eight months.
However, the English striker is determined to come back stronger than before.
